Tatyana Fogarty
Bio and Artist Statement
Landscape painting in oil is the way for me to express both my visual experience and the emotional response to the beauty of nature, its color and changing light. I choose subjects that move and inspire me, especially the impressions that I have collected during my travels in Italy, Argentina and various places in California My most recent inspiration has been the ambient light and reflective qualities of the water, as well as fabulous architecture and old buildings full of character. The process of painting is exceptionally rewarding and gives me a feeling of accomplishment. There is nothing quite like the pleasure of having spent a day totally absorbed in creating a beautiful piece of work. The greatest challenge for me is to be spontaneous and to develop a greater awareness of effects of transient light at different times of the day. My aspiration is to find a unique and beautiful way of creating art that will establish an emotional communication and connection with the viewer.
Tatyana Fogarty studies with Susan Sarback at the School of Light and Color as well as with other fine artists, and her work is in private collections in the U.S.
