Tina Jalalian

Bio and Artist Statement
If the first impression of my painting brings you joy and beauty in any way, then I know I have done my job as an artist!

Although my career has been in engineering and technical writing, my real work and connection to aesthetics, drawing, and painting has been there for as long as I remember. In 2001, I decided to pursue my love of painting by creating an art program based on what was important to me both in terms of painting skills and artistic growth.

So far, I have studied Goethe’s Color Theory, Steiner’s Language of Color, and Monet’s Color Perception. I have studied all four mediums of watercolor veil painting, oil, pastel, and acrylic. Learning from Master Painters such as Lescek Forzcek painting watercolor veils based on Steiner’s color movement for three years, Susan Sarback oil painting based on what she has learned from Monet’s student Henry Hensche, Irene Lester pastel painting at the School of Light and Color using Monet’s approach to painting, and Robert Burridge acrylic painting based on the Munsell color theory.

My Persian traditional background has been an important artistic resource in creating my paintings.
